Vidur Kuti, located in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, is the historic land where, except Duryodhana's dry fruits, Shri Krishna ate the greens of Bathua with great fervor. Its description is also found in Mahabharata. People from every corner of the country come here to celebrate the festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. This year also its complete preparations have been done.

Janmashtami 2020: A special coincidence is being made on Janmashtami on this date, this is the auspicious Chaughadiya Muhurat of worship

It is believed about Vidur Kuti that Lord Krishna came to meet Vidur Kaka at Vidur Kuti. The line mentioned in the Mahabharata is 'Duryodhana's Meva Tyagi Saag Vidur Ghar Khao!' It is associated with this historical site. It is said that before the war of Mahabharata, Dhritarashtra had requested Vidur ji to declare a policy to avert the war of Mahabharata, but Dhritarashtra could not adopt the policy, which resulted in the Mahabharata war. After this Mahatma Vidur left Hastinapur and started living in an island on the banks of the Ganges. This hut later became known as Vidur Kuti.

Even today, 12 months remains green ; Bathua, on the tapostli of Mahatma Vidur, the bath which was eaten by Lord Krishna, is still green at 12 months Vidur Kuti. Although the stream of Ganga is flowing about one kilometer away from Vidur Kuti, once a year, Ganga comes once to touch the taposthali of Vidur.
